Firearm Transfers
RS Shooting Sports Firearm Transfer Rules
- All incoming shipments must have a transfer request submitted or prior approval from staff.
- Only persons listed on the transfer request may pick up the firearms.
- As with all firearm sales and transfers, if at any time, any RS Shooting Sports staff feels uncomfortable with the sale, we reserve the right to deny the transfer or sale of the firearm.
- If the customer fails the background check or is denied for any reason is it there responsibility to arrange return and refund. In the rare instance that the customer is unable to arrange return of firearms, RS Shooting Sports has the option to sell the firearm at a price we determine. a 35% commission will be charged. The customer may not have any influence over locating new buyers, this is to avoid a straw purchase.
- Maryland regulated firearm transfers including all handguns require you to complete the Maryland 77R Form through the MSP licensing portal (Customer is responsible for the $10 MSP Fee).
- All firearm transfers require you to complete a Federal 4473 Form.
- Transfer fees are due when forms are submitted.
- Transfers will be held for 45 days from the time of receipt unless previously approved by RS Shooting Sports staff. Any gun left after 45 days without contact will become property of RS Shooting Sports.
- If the sender/seller is a FFL holder, license documents can be requested at FFL@RSShootingsports.com.
- If the sender/seller is not a FFL holder, they can verify our FFL by entering the first three(8-52) and the last five (14437) digits of our FFL number at the ATF's EZ Check website.
- If the sender/seller is not a FFL holder, they must include a photocopy of their unexpired state issued identification card, contact phone number/email, and the customer's contact information(name and phone number at a minimum).
Failure to do so will not allow us to log the firearm and will result in delays or firearm being returned to sender.
