The National Firearms Act, or NFA regulates the making, buying, and or transfer of short barrel shotguns, short barrel rifles, silencers, and machineguns.
Purchase of NFA firearms used to be an intimidating process that included long wait times, but thanks to new updates as of March 2024 NFA firearms purchased using ATF's e-form applications are being completed in record times. What used to be a year long process has been reduced to 40 days on average.
